Details are emerging of how the same consultancy service was awarded 3 times for different companies in the Saglemi housing unit.
According to Court documents filed by the Attorney General Department, each of the contracts was awarded for an amount of 13 Million Dollars to different Companies.
The first contract for the consultancy service was awarded in April 2013 to the Architecturial and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) which had the consultancy contract decided to subcontract its services to Vito Hugo for a period of 24 Months.
In April 2015, the same consultancy service was awarded for another contract to Ridge Management Solutions.
The third consultancy service contract for the same project was again awarded to another company in August 2016.
The Court documents further revealed that, only 668 housing units were completed instead of 5,000 housing Units as contained in the contract.
The Attorney General has pressed charges against the former Minister of works and housing and 4 others for causing financial loss to the State.
In August 2012,President John Mahama granted executive approval for the works and housing Ministry to construct the 5,000 affordable housing units.
The accused persons are now expected to open their defence in Court when the Judicial Service resumes as they are currently on legal vacation.
