The national population council is proposing a new policy which will only allow couples to give birth to a maximum of three babies.
This according to the national population council is a measure to control the population growth in the country, which means married men and women can henceforth give birth to only three babies at most.

Dr Leticia Adelaide Appiah, who is the executive director of the national population council who spoke to the daily graphic has warned that the current annual rate growth of 2.5% posed a threat to national development.
Dr Appiah who has observed the uncontrolled nature of Ghana’s population growth stated that couples must be made to understand to bear the social cost of every child beyond the stipulated three children/ babies.
