Dennis Nana Dwamena, better known as KiDi is a Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer-songwriter. KiDi has released his Blue EP.
KiDi has revealed the idea of the EP was birthed thanks to the lockdown in Ghana.
Ghanaians endured a three weeks partial lockdown from March to April and Kidi has revealed that is where his EP was birthed.
Speaking exclusively to MuseAfrica, the enjoyment hitmaker stated though he didn’t plan to release a project in 2020, he recorded so much music during lockdown that he and his team decided to share some with fans to help them go through the crises the novel coronavirus pandemic was causing.
“During the lockdown, I was just recording music because that was all I could do. I was just in the studio making music, making songs. It just happened and we just decided (to release the EP) since we have a lot of new music, (and) with people are going through stuff,” he said
Another reason for putting together the EP was because of the therapeutic nature of music
‘Music has been one thing that has healed a lot of us in these hard times so let me put together some of the songs I have been recording, let just put it out to the fans. Just listen to and enjoy, have a good time,’ he added.
