After the demise of Priscilla Opoku Agyemang, known in showbiz as Ebony Reigns, RuffTown records signed a new female singer that we have all come to accept – Wendy Shay.
According to Wendy Shay who was brought into the music scene after the sudden death of Ebony, she had always wanted to collaborate with the late dancehall artiste.
The ‘Uber Driver’ has been accused by many of copying Ebony’s style which recently forced Bullet to refute such comments by telling critics Wendy Shay is a different artiste hence cannot replace Ebony.
In an interview on Adom FM’s Work and Hapiness with Ohemaa Wo Y3 J3, she revealed that the late Ebony knew she (Wendy Shay) was going to join Rufftown Records one day. In the interview she hinted that her wish was to collaborate with Ebony.
“I met Ebony, she knew i was going to be signed by Bullet. It was hard for me when i heard of her demise, because I had plans on featuring and collaborating with her and they were shuttered at once. If we had worked together, things would have been easier for me”, she said.
Wendy Shay went forth to say she would have gained the attention she has right now if Ebony had been alive since they both do different genres.
