Ghanaian Afropop singer Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, better known by her stage name MzVee has in a recent interview which was monitored by Ghkasa.com rubbished claims of many that Ebony’s reign in the industry had an effect on her career.
Sinking ships have captains, and MzVee isn’t going to allow anyone take a swipe at her after 6years of career hustle to be at the top. Well, it is quite obvious that Ebony Reign won the heart of many Ghanaians despite ‘the hypocrites’ who always came at her but jammed to her songs behind closed doors and her reign submerged the careers of most female artistes.
The ‘Daavi‘ singer has rubbished claims that the dominance of Ebony in the music scene in 2017 prevented her from attaining certain heights in the music industry.
According to MzVee in an interview with Ohemaa Woyeje on ADOM FM, every artiste has a season, just as there is the harvest season in farming and when that season comes no one can take your shine same as there is to the ploughing season in the career of an artiste where he/she takes a break to work harder hence it was just her low period.
“Every work has it high and low periods. I won’t say we were affected by her craft, i think she came with something different and everybody loved what she was doing and everybody was looking at it like ‘wow, this is different’. I have been singing for seven years now, I have had my high and low periods so it wasn’t Ebony’s dominance that caused my low period”, she told Ohemaa Woyeje.
She revealed that despite the competition in the industry, she has never been happy over Ebony’s demise and she doesn’t think her fellow female artistes do.
