Former black stars defender John Paintsil, laments that publications by the media has cost him and made him lose a lot adding that all previous reports by news portals were untrue.

John Paintsil was reported last year to have stabbed his ex-wife, the reports compelled many to question whether the former Ghana defender was on drugs to have perpetrated such acts.

But two years after the incident, Pantsil in an interview with GHANAsoccernet.com revealed that he never stabbed the wife let alone in the eye.

Hmm, according to the former defender who is now a coach, he was a victim of negative and false reports which has really cost him a fortune.

Mr Painstil, who was a guest on Joy Prime’s Gee Spot with MzGee, admonished the media to be circumspect with their reportage. He added that he had a very cordial relationship with his ex-wife and their children have come to terms with the reality.

According to him he lost a wife and was without a contract for three years due to the false publication, he warned the media not to publish stories about public figures without conferring with them.

“The media needs to contact us if they want to write about us, if they want to write about me, they need to contact me. If the person doesn’t speak, don’t write. I lost a lot of thing in my life, properties, millions of Pounds Sterling because of a single mistake by someone who claims that I stabbed my ex-wife and I was at the Police station, no statement, nothing till date but I lost the job so the little that you do can cause damage. I was out of contract for three years but I managed to survive”, John Paintsil told MzGee.
