BET Award winning rapper, Sarkodie has revealed that his fiercest rap battle of all time was against Criss Waddle, who was then the King of Kasahare rap level.
Rapper Sarkodie has come a long way with lots of rivals and battles conquered. There were times people thought he was afraid of engaging Yaa Pono in a rap battle, but he did, and the odds went in Sark’s favour.
Kasahare Level is a rap show hosted on Adom FM every saturday, where rappers battle each other to show what they have for fans to decide who wins the night.
Sarkodie, Criss Waddle, Yaa Pono, and Omar Sterling were among these rappers who battled out on Kasahare Level with Doctor Duncan being the host of the show.
The 2012 BET Best International act gained recognition in his constant appearance on Adom Fm’s Kasahare Level hosted by Doctor Duncan. In one of those rap battles on the show, Sarkodie locked horns with fellow Tema based rapper Criss Waddle.
Sarkodie narrates this nervy experience in a conversation he had with Doctor Duncan.
“The keenly competed battle was between myself and Waddle, that was a very very intense and emotional battle. To me, my battle with Waddle was the fiercest. The score was two votes apart. When i met Waddle, he was the reigning champion at Kasahare and i was the new gem, hammering all the hardcore guys so I had to face Waddle. He was very very comfortable, I was more aggressive because i wanted to win. So what happened was when the votes started tripping in, the first six callers were for Waddle, i was shocked, i had not seen some before. My fans were too comfortable at that point, but they didn’t disappoint me, lol”, he told Duncan.
Sarkodie has released his latest single, a classic one called ‘Black Excellence’.
