Nana Richard Abiona, better known by his stage name Fuse ODG, burnt a painted photo of Jesus Christ which went viral on social media.
In a recent video intercepted by Ghkasa.com, the British-Ghanaian recording artist Fuse ODG claims Africans should take their our faith in in their hands. According to the ‘Antenna’ hit maker, having a photo of Jesus Christ in our households is not biblical because the bible tells us not to create any images in a form of a man or any creature on earth.
Fuse ODG continued to say its idolatry and the bible has stated emphatically that, what God hate most is the worship of idols.
As Africans we can hope that the oppressors can do the right thing but we can not depend on. We need to take our faith into our own hands, we have responsibility to deal with our own truth and it starts with this.
He also said,
It is not even biblical, if you read the bible, it specifically tells us not to create any images in a form of a man or a woman or any creature on earth. This is idolatry and again if you read the bible there is nothing that God hates more than idol worship.
We need to take down this false images and worship God in spirit and in truth. This needs to be taken down from every single church from Africa. This right here is the real issue here in Africa because you can go to some part of Africa and will find images of white Jesus and some of you believe in areas where the first kind who ever saw a white person where represented as a God.
So why do we use a white person as a first image to represent God? As Africans, Globally we need to question every aspect of Christianity.
Social media is sparked and the kind of questions being asked most is:
- Is this Blasphemy?
- Is Fuse ODG Right?
Fuse ODG is best known for his 2013 single “Antenna” which peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart, and for featuring in Major Lazer’s “Light It Up” which also peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart.
