CEO of Asuoden Music and a member of SM empire, Pope Skinny in an interview with Zylofon radio today stated that rap music in Ghana is dead.

According to the former host of “Kasahare Level” on Adom FM who also doubles as a rapper, it’s as a result of the ailing state of rap in Ghana that is why most rappers in Ghana have been singing.

He made reference to the likes of Kofi Kinaata, Sarkodie, Yaa Pono, among others. He claimed most of these artistes sing instead of rapping.

“Rap is dead in Ghana, we can no longer sell rap and that is why most of these Ghanaian rappers sing.”, he stated.

Pope Skinny went ahead to brag, referring to himself as the new messiah of rap in Ghana who will bring rap back to life since it is dead.

Pope Skinny also asked to be reinstated as the new host of ‘kasahare level’. He added that he will do everything in his might to restore the lost glory of rap in Ghana to the satisfaction of music enthusiasts.
