Ghanaians have a way of preaching on ‘Support Your Own‘ yet go about liking and appreciating posts and pictures of foreign artistes over their own, rapper Edem alleges.
The past weeks have seen Ghanaians calling for patronage of local products and contents. Well, Rapper Edem has reacted to this ‘hypocritical’ cry by many Ghanaian artistes who have joined the call.
According to Edem, Ghanaian artistes are fond of appreciating foreign artistes on social media by liking and commenting everything they put on social media, ignoring their colleague artistes who also post similar contents on social media.
Rapper Edem is of the view that if local artists do not reduce their admiration for foreign artists and love their own, there is no way the “Support Your Own”campaign is going to yield.
He took to twitter to write:
Ghanaian Artiste Go fit like all American and Nigerian Starts dem pic for ig..But can’t do same for ihn own brother for ihn backyard…Common tap of a button..So imagine if efor support u or help u ..Soo sad
This is campaign has been going on for a while with Ghanaians lashing out rapper Sarkodie for promoting a song by a nigerian artiste, Mr P. This according to some Ghanaians was uncalled for by the rapper at a time where Nigerians had snubbed Ghanaian top Arts at the Zylofon Nigeria Invasion Concert.
