Cinematographer and Lecturer at National Film and Television Institute, Yao Ladzekpo has stated that, Ghanaian Films do not go International because, many film-makers are using the camera as a recording tool instead of using it as a story telling tool.

In an initiative by MTN Ghana called MTN Open Coffee which aims at addressing digital journalism, intellectual property and film, Yao Ladzekpo made it plain to the attendees that, most Ghanaian film-makers do not put the real story out but focus on the camera skills and to show the quality pictures their cameras can show.

“Ghanaian movies are not going international because we just use the camera as a recording tool and not a story telling tool.”

The MTN open coffee seeks to leverage on the ideas of the various stakeholders in the digital industry, in order to ensure that proper advantage is taken of the monetary value of the internet [digital space].

Day one of the workshop which was about Digital Journalism was hosted by Joy FM’s Kobby Spiky Nkrumah and the resource personnel was the Chief Executive Officer [C.E.O] of Popout Ghana, Maximus Ametorgoh.

Many have described the Ghana Movie Industry as a dead industry do you agree?
