Earlier today, Hon Francis Asenso Boakye had the honour of opening the Real Estate Revolution and Housing Fair, which he spoke of how the Government is coming to the aid of those in search of apartments and housing .
This initiative is aimed at providing public education, creating awareness and enhancing business opportunities that will provide the solutions for efficient building and construction methods as well as financing for home ownership.
He made the point that although the housing deficit in Ghana is currently on the increase, the Ministry has an objective to significantly reduce the deficit within the shortest possible time by using an appropriate mix of public and private sector investments that meet the needs and financial capacity of the average Ghanaian.
Significantly, Asenso noted that, government under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has prioritized the provision of mass, decent, quality secure and safe affordable housing aimed at reducing the housing deficit and my Ministry is willing to embrace any collaboration that will support this roadmap.
Accordingly, the Ministry is developing a sustainable framework that focuses on the overall ecosystem of housing delivery geared toward improving the housing situation in the country.
The objective of this framework is to address both the supply and demand sides of the housing market by increasing the output of housing units at an affordable rate and developing a credible and sustainable mortgage market for all Ghanaians.
