Cape Coast’s sensational female singer, eShun has revealed her career as a high-life singer wouldn’t have reached the level she has attained now if she was doing gospel.
Singer eShun who recently revealed how Wendy Shay ignored her; in an interview with told Franky 5 last sunday on Hitz FM’s “This Is Gospel” stated that doing secular music has given her enough exposure and the needed attention as compared to when she was singing in churches.
The gospel fraternity hasn’t been doing so well in recent times, and Ghana can only boast of a few gospel artistes that have really made it to the top, with the list not capturing up to 15 renowned and relevant gospel artistes.
In the said interview, She revealed that even though she was brought up in a Christian home, she realised that only Christians listen to gospel songs when a gospel musician releases a song it, unlike the secular songs which can be enjoyed by all the members from other religions.
“Doing only gospel music limits my talent. Christians only listen to gospel music but my songs reach out to every religion. When you listen to the content of my music, I preach forgiveness, love, strength and these are the things being preached in churches. When you ask me where I belong, I will proudly say I’m a Christian, I reach out to humanity. I preach forgiveness and it has no limitation. It’s a human language”, eShun said.
