Award-winning Ghanaian musician, King Promise has indicated that there is no pressure on him to get married.

According to him, his grandmother is interested in seeing her grandchildren and not see him married.

He made this known when he appeared on Hitz FM when he was interviewed by the popular Ghanaian radio presenter, Andy Dosty.

“I am not under pressure to get married. My grandmother just wants grandchildren.”

In the same interview, he claimed that he is the most-streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time.

When people bash Ghanaian musicians, I sometimes feel they are not enlightened enough. However, I see that they are entitled to their opinions. I do not let criticism bother me. What I am trying to do with this Sony deal is, I want to prove to them that we also have good music down here in Ghana

The mentality from the inception has been not to care about awards. I would have been broken by now if I paid attention to awards. I am the most streamed Ghanaian artiste of all time. I am making my money from streams, shows and deals. Not winning awards do not get to me that much.

I am not saying I am not down to doing collaborations. I just have to like the song.” he said.

In other news, King Promise has sent some harsh words to his critics. According to him, anyone who doesn’t like his songs doesn’t like good music and there is nothing he can do about that.

King Promise returns to share his latest single ‘Slow Down’ via 5K Records. A signature silky smooth blend of Afrobeats, high-life and R&B, ‘Slow Down’ is the first offering to emerge from a year of still; that whilst it began seeing a sold-out international tour covering London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Toronto and more put to an abrupt stop, serendipitously allowed him to get back in the studio to experiment and create his best music yet.

Dropping alongside today is a gorgeous Andy Matijey directed video that sees King Promise visit his girl after dance practice at an auditorium full of mesmerising, sensual movements and soft, warm lighting as it tells a story of love, adoration and devotion.
