Award winning female vocalist, Jane Awindor, better known by her stage name Efya, says she is not interested in dating and will only prefer wealthy men. She also revealed that, it is high time insurance companies put out schemes for lovers to insure their relationship to save guard them for marriage.
“They should make an insurance for the assurance. So that men can insure the fact that, you are going to assure me. You know, make it legit like hey babe, I’m assuring you of marriage. Assure that fact.” She said.
The multiple award winging songwriter told Sokoohemaa Kukua on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, she is currently not dating and not ready to date due to some heart breaks she had previously in her life.
“I am not interested in marriage. I have dated and it didn’t work, so I am just not ready for marriage. He should be cute, have manners and have a lot of money.”
However, when Efya was asked whether she will accept proposals from wealthy men if she decides to date, she told the host.
“Honestly, do I need a man? You don’t have to make it seem like the life that you life you need someone. Because what if that person goes away? We tire curtain people to human beings, we should stop tiring them.”
She further explained that her reason why she requires a wealthy man, is because she is already making money and not interested in the wealth of the man but requires love and affection. Meanwhile, she has expressed her desire to direct movies. According to her, her love for movies is unmatched and deep rooted in her blood.

Efya got her first exposure to fame when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show. he won the Best Female Vocal Performance category at the Ghana Music Awards in four succession, beginning in 2011. Moreover, she was applauded for her performance at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
Her debut mixtape, T.I.N.T., was released on 11 November 2013. It consists of songs that were released from 2011 through 2013.
The mixtape was supported by the singles “Getaway” and “Best In Me”. She released her long-awaited debut studio album, Janesis, on 22 April 2016. It was previously scheduled for release at different times between 2013 and 2015. “Forgetting Me”, the album’s lead single, was released on 11 January 2014.
