2nd Runner up of Kantaka Miss Excel Plus 2020, Naa Adjeley Tetteh will launch her foundation christened ‘NAT Foundation’ on Sunday 18th April, 2021 at the Church of Pentecost (Rhema Worship Centre), East Legon; to champion the good course of fighting against breast cancer in Ghana.
Breast cancer which is the most common cancer among women worldwide is gradually becoming a menace and the goal of the NAT Foundation is to raise awareness as well as celebrate breast cancer survivorship.
According to the queen, greater knowledge about the prevention of breast cancers through NAT Foundation will lead to earlier detection which helps in higher long-term survival rates.
On why she felt the need to established the non-governmental organization with the sole purpose of raising awareness through breast screening for women across the country starting from Accra; she said;
I lost my favorite aunty some years ago to the disease, and I can’t keep silent”.
As a beauty queen, it is important to be involved in such a campaign in order to use the platform, to help promote Breast Cancer Awareness.
The NAT Foundation she said, will partner with the Korle Bu Breast Unit and collaborate with other NGOs and corporate Ghana to carry out free breast screening/examination.
Doctors will also walk attendees through symptoms of Breast Cancer and how to detect it early before it spreads across the breast.
The team will be stationed at both Accra and West Hills Malls, Junction Mall, and some selected communities,
churches, Mosques from October 4 to 30 to provide free education and screening.
