Hiplife artiste, Emmanuel Botwe, popularly known as Kwaw Kese, has referred to Korle Bu Children’s ward as prison following the death of his newborn baby.

The boss of Madtime Music, lamented poor service delivery at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital as an issue that requires urgent corrective measures.

Expressing displeasure about the condition of the ward, the ‘Yakubu’ hit singer after all means to save his newborn child failed, pleaded with Government to attend to the need of the hospital to ensure that no other parent experience such a painful situation.

“The situation at the Korle Bu Children’s Ward was an eye-saw. I wish after saying this you’ll come and have a look at it yourself or you’ll send your colleague journalists to report on the issue. You have to see the children’s emergency unit, trust me. What the newborn babies and their mothers go through is pathetic. I mean this ward that houses new born babies, I’m talking about a day old baby. The place is extremely vulnerable, anything at all can happen to those babies. I have been to prison before and if I tell you there’s no difference between the children’s ward and prison I bet you, I’m being very truthful. It is extremely unhealthy, the situation there is pathetic.” He told Starr FM.

Nana Pokuah, Kwaw Kese’s wife gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday June 28, 2018. Sources say she gave birth at a private health facility in Accra, but because the baby had heart complications, he had to be referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Friday June 29, 2018, for treatment.

After several days and hours of trying to save the baby’s life, he died.

Kwaw Kese and Nana Pokuah have a child each from their previous relationships.

They also have a daughter together after they got married in 2016.
