The job of artiste managers includes negotiating contracts and fees, finding and booking events and venues that match the artiste’s career strategy, advising on career decisions, publicity and promotion, helping them on career decisions such as which record producer to work with, or which songs to perform, and managing media relations on behalf of them.
Ghana has produced very well and talented female musicians for years now and they have made vibrant moves around the world to projet the nation.
Most of these successful female musicians are been managed by males be it their relatives, friends or business-minded people who have the motive of presenting their talents to the world.
NB: We have compiled this list based on artiste we have seen still working with their managers.
1. John Sherren (Wiyaala’s Manager)
British manager, John Sherren is the manager of Ghanaian Afro-pop artiste Wiyaala.
John is mostly behind the scenes working hard to put his act in the books. Hardly do we see or hear him in the news.
GhKasa.com gathers that John Sherren discovered Wiyaala somewhere in 2010 and has since been her manager from her days of Vodafone Icons to date.
2. Kwame Fakye (Adina’s Manager)
Kwame Faakye is a former XFM presenter and also hosted the maiden edition of GH One’s “The Next Big Thing”.
Kwame has been in the Creative Arts Industry as an Mc, radio and tv presenter for more than a decade so it was not a surprise to many industry folks when Kwame started managing Ghanaian-South African singer, songwriter and actress Adina Thembi Ndamse better known by her stage name Adina.
Adina and Kwame have worked for years and are still doing the magic of entertaining fans and doing more business.
3. Ricky Nana Agyemang aka Bullet (Wendy Shay’s Manager)
Ricky Nana Agyemang, also known as Bullet is a Ghanaian Musician, Songwriter, Record Label owner and a controversial Artiste Manager for Ghanaian Afropop and Afrobeats singer signed to Rufftown Records Wendy Addo, known by the stage name Wendy Shay. He was a member of the music group Ruff n Smooth with Ahkan.
Bullet started his musical career as Etuo Aboba (meaning “Bullet” in Twi). He released an album under this name titled Wo Beko Wo Maame Ho. In 2008, he formed the group Ruff n Smooth with Ahkan.
Bullet signed Wendy Shay in January 2018 after the untimely death of label mate Ebony Reigns. On 1 June 2018, Wendy Shay released her debut single “Uber Driver”, produced by MOG Beatz.
4. Emmanuel Arhin aka Bossu Kule (Sista Afia’s Manager)
Emmanuel Arhin, professionally known as Bossu Kule is the CEO of B.K. Multi-Media, and P.R expert for actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win and his music label, Boss Nation Music (B.N.M).
He is the publicist for gospel songstress Niiella Coffie and also the publicist for Ghana’s reigning High Life artiste, Bisa Kdei.
In 2016, he became the manager of High Life songstress, Sista Afia. Bossu Kule and Sista Afia are still working together.
