President of the Creative Arts Council and Programmes Director for Accra based Hitz FM, Mark Okraku Mantey has stated he has not been called to for any ministerial position yet.

Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Mark Okraku-Mantey mentioned the President of Ghana is yet to call him and talk to him about any ministerial appointment.

I have not been called for a Ministerial position yet.

Just after the 2020 general elections, some people in the tourism and creative space started pushing an agenda of who they want to see as Ministers of the Tourism, Arts and Culture sectors in Nana Addo’s next government.

Mark Okraku-Mantey is one of the nominees most creative arts players were calling on the President to call for an appoint with the believe he has the technical knowledge to lead the industry.

Days ago,

Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, the former Minister for Business Development, was on the list of the forty-six (46) Ministers-designate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented to Parliament for vetting and approval.

He has been appointed to take charge of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, which hitherto was handled by Barbara Oteng Gyasi, with Dr. Ziblim Iddi as her Deputy.

Prior to the announcement most people in the tourism, arts and culture space had suggested that people with know-how in the sector be made ministers. Some had argued that at least, the Deputy Minister should be creative arts-inclined person.
