Born Martin King Arthur but popularly known as Kofi Kinaata, has been without a record label for almost a year after peacefully saying ‘goodbye’ to High grade Family and one would ask why.
Well, Kofi Kinaata has revealed in an interview that he is not ready to join any record label in the meantime. Earlier, there were reports that created impressions that the artiste was joining Zylofon Media.
Working without a label for a year might be difficult, but Kofi Kinaata insists that the he wants to be without a label for the meantime and work with his own selected team.
“I am not with any management for now, it’s a personal decision. I am working on myself for now. I have people who are working for me. I have a team, i have acting managers and all that.”
“I can’t miss High grade family, its a relationship. Every High grade fan is a Team Move fan, every Team Move fan is a High grade fan”, he said.
According to him, these labels want artistes to work for them, but heads of the labels are not willing to help them as artistes and not workers.
Asked if that was the reason behind his new single, ‘Malafaka’, he made it clear that the song was for all who fall into the category. Especially those who don’t help but have a say in your success.
