The second edition of Citi TV’s annual Entertainment Achievement Awards came off at the Marriott Hotel in Accra on February 26, 2022, where Comedian OB Amponsah was honored.
This year’s award which happens to be the second edition honored people in the showbiz sector whose works fall within the 2021 eligibility year.
Among the big winners on the night was Ghanaian Standup Comedian OB Amponsah who won the Standup Comedian of the Year award for the second time in a row.
Expressing his joy after receiving the award, OB Amponsah took to his social media handles and tweeted “We won, Guys. For the second time in a row. It only gets better from here!!! I love you all. Thanks @CitiTVGH.”
Prominent among the nominees in the Standup Comedian of the Year category were Lekzy DeComic, DKB, Foster Romanus and Jerry Ashinyo. OB Amponsah also in
appreciating the recognition mentioned that standup comedy has come to stay and the industry must be given the necessary attention especially from investors.
The radio and tv host, OB, also received nominations in the event of the year category and also in the entertainment personality of the year which was won by Black Sherif.
Other winners on the night were Actress Lydia Forson who was adjudged the Best Female Actor of the Year. Actor Ras Nene, also known as Dr. Likee, was crowned Comic Actor of the Year.
The Entertainment Achievement Awards scheme covers areas such as sports, music, film, fashion, photography, media, writing, comedy, among others.
The event featured performances from gospel musician Diana Hamilton, Akwaboah, Akosua Agyapong and Kobi Rana.
