Paving Path Network Donates To Children At Swalaba

Paving Path Network (PPN), on Sunday, January 31st, 2021 donated some school items to Children of school-going age at Swalaba, one of the communities in Gamashie, Accra.

According to Organizers of the event, there was the need to donate the items to support the children as they returned to school after a long break.  Items donated include, Exercise and Note books, pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, Math Sets, Novels Etc.

Paving PathPaving PathThe group also organized a workshop for the students on the theme” Essence Of Education In The Wake of Coronavirus” Addressing the gathering, Founder of the Network, Naa Ayorkor Laryea said the group was formed to Improve the quality of life of children in Gamashie using education as a tool.

She added that it is very common to find children dropping out of school in the neighborhood hence the birth of Paving Path Network to reduce the rate and in a long term eradicate it.  She further stated that it is the right of every child to be in school and not roam the streets of Accra.

“As an indigene, I have witnessed a lot of children dropping out of school here at Swalaba and Gamashie as a whole. Now this is very worrying and I believe it is our duty to ensure this new normal become a thing of the past.”

“United Nation Sustainable Development goal 4 talks about the need for children to have access to Quality Education, This I must say is a call of action for all of us and that is why Paving Path Network Exist”

She also called on individuals and corporate Ghana to come support this great vision that will help children attain greater heights in life.

“ I must say our goal is not an easy one to achieve but with determination and great support from Individuals and Corporate Ghana we will be able to keep a lot of children in school. So I therefore call on them to come to our aid. “She said.

With excitement some of the participants of the workshop cum donation could not hide their joy.

“I am very excited, I learnt a lot from them, and I look forward to the reading club that will start soon” One of the participants, Francisca said.

“I am very grateful to them because sometimes as students we need people to look up too and since they also grew up in the neighborhood and have reached greater path in their career. I am inspired to also get to that point. Another participant Joe Added.

Some resident showered praises on the members of the organization for coming up with such a greater initiative.

“I am very happy that such a things, exist in this community, the children are going wayward too much. I pray for strength for the members of the team to go all out and help save these children” one
