Grace Kaki Awo Ocansey popularly known as Kaakie and Dancehall Queen has been off the music scene for a while and we keep asking ourselves whether she is still doing music or not.
Before- they were rumours, now they have been confirmed by the High Grade Family boss, Samini that dancehall artiste Kaakie has finally given up on music to focus on her nursing career.
For a year dancehall artiste Kaakie has been silent on the music scene. After the release of her hit single ‘Sankwas‘ in 2016, the artiste has failed to make the chart with her songs and has been missing on the scenes. The artiste parted ways with record label, Xtra Large Music in 2017 after 6yrs.
Samini who groomed Kaakie for the mainstream industry offers explanation for the female artiste’s long silence.
“She is in England furthering her nursing education so her music is on hold now, she needs to finish off with that”, he explained.
But we all recall the female artiste was doing music while she was in school, but why is that not the case now?
“You can combine the two as much as you can till you can’t anymore. For now she needs to concentrate and finish her books”, the award winning artiste added
Regarding the controversies and what forced the female artiste out of Xtra Large Music and as to whether the issues have been resolved. Samini revealed that he can’t speak for the label since he is not a member of the label.
Kaakie is the only female artiste with most collaborations with Samini.
