Reggae-Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has won “High-life Song of the Year”and “Reggae-dancehall Song of the Year” with his “My Level” and “Gringo” songs respectfully.
Shatta Wale was awarded at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held at the Accra International Conference centre (AICC).
Y’ll remember what happened in the Ghanaian music industry back in the year 2013 after Kaakie ‘murdered’ Shatta Wale and went home with the ‘Reggae Dance Hall Song of the Year’ award.
If you don’t remember, then let me remind you that was where Shatta Wale’s feud with Charterhouse began until he recently smoked the peace pipe with them.
As the event prepares to take off tonight, the SM boss has issued a strong warning to Charterhouse not make any mistakes by ‘gifting’ the award to a different artiste.
He wrote; “People should always remember 2013 can repeat itself in 2019 but this time the iOS will be very smart and sharp ???????????????? – Shatta wale(shatta movement)“.
The 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is slated to come off on Saturday, May 18. This year’s edition happens to be special as it coincides with the 20th-anniversary celebrations of the award.
