Multiple award-winning artist Livingston Este Satekla widely known as Stonebwoy has set a new record as he wins “Music For Good” at the just VGMAs Industry Awards 2022 after 2 years of ban for misconduct.
The “Therapy” hitmaker won the “Music For Good” award with his song “Greedy Men”. According to the organizers, the song addressed societal problems and was themed on social and developmental issues.
In other categories, “Praise” by Fameye earned the “Songwriter of the Year” award for containing original lyrics and music compositions, while Grammy award-winning record producer, Joshua Moszi, won in the Best Instrumentalist of the Year category for having the most outstanding live instrumental performance on critically acclaimed projects that were released in the year under review.
Wizkid, MOG Beatz, Kwaisey Pee, Niiela, and Bosom P Yung nabbed prizes for Best African Artiste of the Year, Producer of the Year, Best Male Vocal Performance of the Year, Best Female Vocal Performance, and Best Video of the Year, respectively. Nii Tettey Tetteh was crowned the Best Traditional Artiste of the Year.
Aside celebrating nominees, winners, and outstanding creators working behind the scenes, the night witnessed distinguished live musical performances from music phenom Samini, singer Wendy Shay, highlife artiste Kofi Kinaata, and rappers: Amerado, Lyrical Joe and Obibini. Current Unsung winner, Gambo, also had a slot on the performance roster.
The 23rd annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ends on Saturday (May 7) with a live broadcast from the Grand Arena of Accra International Conference Centre from 8 PM.
