Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Afeku at the launch of 2018 AFRIMA called on Media Houses in Ghana to support and promote AFRIMA in the coming years.
All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA)is an annual award show. The event was established by the International Committee AFRIMA, in collaboration with the African Union to reward and celebrate musical works, talents and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage.
At the launch of the 2018 edition of the AFRIMA at the Kempiski Goldcoast Hotel yesterday, the minister pleaded with the media to get involved as she knows their participation will greatly contribute to the success of the awards.
The AFRIMA will be hosted in Ghana this year till 2020, present at the launch was the Minister, Stonebwoy, Samini, King Promise, Jupiter, King Promise, Kuami Eugene and others.
“Now that nominations are closed we still need to do mega awareness creation to every artiste in every corner of Ghana. Now with thanks to social media, they are very much aware but we need to use your medium to publicize AFRIMA”
“Especially what it can do for the continent, so we don’t have the issue of I was not involved, I was not invited. It is for the continent. Ghana has the opportunity to host, but it is a competitive arena”, she addressed the media.
In addition to, she highlighted that media men and artiste have important roles to play to make this year’s AFRIMA that will be hosted by Ghana a special one, and can only do that by massive publicity on social and traditional media.
