#VGMA2020: Charterhouse opens nomination for VGMA 2020


Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA 2020) have opened nominations for the 21st edition of the prestigious awards scheme.

Charterhouse issued an official statement to alert stakeholders on the opening of nominations for VGMA 2020.

Though the 20th edition had the artiste of the year and popular song of the year categories unawarded, this year’s edition might be quite different.

According to the release, interested stakeholders are to pick up nomination forms from the offices of Charterhouse Productions Limited, partner radio, and TV stations or download from www.ghanamusicawards.com.

Forms can also be filled and submitted online at www.entry.ghanamusicawards.com.

VODAFONE GHANA MUSIC AWARDS OPENS NOMINATIONS

Happy New Year to you and yours from Charterhouse Productions Limited, organizers of the annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Festival (VGMA 2020).

On behalf of the Board, headline Sponsor, Vodafone and other partners, we are honoured to inform musicians, music industry practitioners and members of the general public that nominations for the 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards are officially open.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, since its inception in 2000 has grown to become the biggest event on the Ghanaian Entertainment Calendar, designed among other things, to recognize and celebrate the hard work and dedication of the various players in Ghana’s music industry.

Interested stakeholders are by this release encouraged to pick up nomination forms from the offices of Charterhouse Productions Limited, partner radio and TV stations or download from www.ghanamusicawards.com.

Forms can also be filled and submitted online at www.entry.ghanamusicawards.com.

Completed hand-filled forms with copies of music works and promotional images should all be submitted to the offices of Charterhouse Productions Limited located at B824/10 Feo Eyeo Street, Industrial Area Accra, near TV Africa, not later than 31st January 2019 when all nominations officially close.

Please note that only works released between 1st January 2019- 31st December 2019 can be entered.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA formerly Ghana Music Awards) was established in 2000 by Mascot to celebrate Ghanaian musicians. The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on GH One. The awards ceremony features performances by artists.

The Ghana Music Awards trophy has been changed over the years, the current trophy being unveiled during the 2013 Vodafone Ghana Music Award – Industry Awards night. The trophy includes a plastic red, gold, green (national colours of Ghana) compact disc to symbolize music.

This new plaque comes in a gold plated and star-shaped with a sound hole of an acoustic guitar, guitar strings(A-D-G-B-E) centred in the heart of the star, with the objective of it being used at the 20th and subsequent editions of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony.
