Messaging app WhatsApp has suffered outages worldwide Tuesday, with users reporting issues sending messages and overall app functionality.
According to Downdetector, a website that monitors service outages for messaging and social media platforms, reports of WhatsApp outages skyrocketed since 10 a.m. Tuesday, going from zero reports to well over one thousand.
In a statement, a company spokesperson said that it was trying to resolve the issue for users.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” the representative said.
