Yes, the Glo Mega Music and Lafftafest event was a successful one because it was literally free- you should know. The turn up for all episodes right to the mega night on October 20th at the Fantasy Dome was overwhelming, but there are a few things you probably didn’t know, which i feel aren’t right.
On the eve of the event, Nigerian artiste Wizkid came on stage in slippers, well he apologized to Ghanaians with a cheeky excuse, which in conclusion posed that his flight to Ghana delayed hence forced him to forget that he was in slippers – cheeky, isn’t it? Well, he had the balls to apologize on stage.
Well, that is not my worry at all. Ghanaians have always bragged about how Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Samini and Shatta Wale are international artistes, especially when these camps come at each other oon social meida. And on the eve of the event, two out of the aforementioned artistes, Sarkodie and Stonebwoy were present at the event.
It will surprise you to know how Glo, organizers of the program addressed these two Ghanaian artistes in a document that i chanced on.
In the document which is an invitation given to one media house, organizers of the Glo Mega Music and Lafftafest concert literally addressed Sarkodie and Stonebwoy as local artistes leaving out the Nigerian artistes as they were showered with praises.
It is however clear that glo made a mockery of Ghanaian artistes who were billed to perform, despite paying them to perform, the organizers less regarded the reputation and level of the Ghanaian artistes who were billed to perform. I was puzzled when i saw Wizkid on stage with slippers, and i wondered if they would have allowed a Ghanaian artiste to wear ‘Charlewote’ on stage – never!
You can argue it out, but how they addressed the artistes and Wizkid’s outfit on stage was just to make mockery of Ghanaian artistes who were present, in other words to say the show is not a serious show for him hence he chose to wear anything at all and appear on stage.
