About Jermaine Edwards

Jermaine Edwards, who was born on July 22, 1980, in St. Andrew, Jamaica, to Pastor Janet Edwards and Bishop Rowan Edwards of the Light House Assembly, acknowledges that his early commitment to Christianity was more one of compliance than of conviction.

Like his siblings, he was heavily active in his parent’s ministry, but for many years, attending church felt more like a duty than like an act of genuine communion with God.

With the help of this CD, he was able to schedule shows in nine American states, Turks & Caicos, the Cayman Islands, and England.

His second CD, A Closer Walk Island Worship 2, which points people of all ages to God, is now available. His meteoric rise in popularity demonstrates how much people adore his music, and his current status as a sought-after minister encouraging young people to focus on their daily walk with God.

A Grammy or other honor, according to Edwards, would be lovely, but what would be more significant would be the ability to enter a school each morning and lead devotions with a strong sound system while praising God so that young people would be brought to Him. His mission on earth would be completed when that occurs.

Songs

He set out on a quest for a closer relationship with God because he yearned for God’s closeness. Jermaine’s musical talents were verified by his excellent stewardship as the minister of music at his church, and by his late teens he had started to take the music business seriously.

Jermaine claims that accepting the call on his life was made possible by his research on young David and King Saul. He grew convinced of the power of music and decided to use his gifts to serve people after thinking about how David’s harp’s songs drove the demons that tortured King Saul away.

Traditional worship songs made up his debut album, ISLAND WORSHIP 1: A Jamaican Experience, which was warmly received by both domestic and foreign listeners.

ISLAND WORSHIP 2: A Closer Walk, released in 2006, came after this album from 2004. This second album’s songs were motivated by the artist’s desire to get closer to God.

He earned three wins at the 2010 Caribbean Gospel Marlin Awards for his contemplative second album, DESTINY: Song of the Year for Make You Smile, Album of the Year, and Reggae Vocal Performance of the Year. He received nominated for Producer of the Year and Engineered Recording of the Year for DESTINY.
