Sharaf Mahama launches Legacy Rise Sports with thrilling “Legacy Fight Night” boxing event

Sharaf Mahama, CEO of Legacy Rise Sports, officially launched his sports promotion and management agency yesterday with a thrilling boxing event dubbed “Legacy Fight Night.”

The event, held at the 4 Abidjan Close Complex in East Legon, Accra, was a collaboration between Legacy Rise Sports Promotions and Mubarak Yusif’s Safe Box Boxing Promotions.

The night kicked off with a successful weigh-in event at the iconic Bukom Boxing Arena, setting the stage for a memorable evening of high-octane boxing. The headline bout featured a three-round exhibition match between Abu Kamoko, popularly known as “Ambitious Tilapia,” and Thomas Ayaatoya. Abu Kamoko, son of the legendary Braimah Kamoko, better known as Bukom Banku, a former WBO Africa Cruiserweight champion, WBO Africa Light Heavyweight champion, and World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) Light Heavyweight champion, showcased his skills, carrying on his father’s legacy in the ring.

In addition to the main event, the audience was treated to six other exciting bouts, including a standout juvenile match between Elisha Mensah of Jamestown Boxing Club and James Armah. The night was a celebration of boxing talent and a strong statement of intent from Legacy Rise Sports to become a major player in the sports promotion and management arena in Ghana.

Sharaf Mahama expressed his excitement about the launch of Legacy Rise Sports and his vision for the future of sports in Ghana.

At Legacy Ride Sports, we are driven by a vision to elevate sports to new heights whilst using it as a powerful tool for social change. Our mission is clear, to identify and nurture local talents, provide them with opportunities they need to succeed and promote Ghanaian sports and culture on the global stage. We believe that every young person, regardless of their background, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to pursue their dreams and we are committed to creating the platforms that will allow them to do so. We do not intend to only develop sports when there are sports with it, we intend to build legacies.” Sharaf stated.

To achieve this vision, we need the continual support of individuals, organizations and institutions that share our commitment to the youth, empowerment, community development and the promotion of sports. Your involvement, whether through partnerships, sponsorships or simply spreading the word, is key and crucial to the success of this initiative. Together, we can create a thriving sports ecosystem that not only produces world-class sportsmen and women but also enriches the lives of countless young people across our nation.” he added.

With the successful launch of Legacy Rise Sports, Sharaf Mahama has set the stage for a new era in sports promotion and management in Ghana, promising more thrilling events and opportunities for athletes in the near future.
