Over a thousand residents in Tamale joined Sharaf Mahama, the son of former President John Dramani Mahama, to participate in a health walk.

The program staged last June 29, 2024, saw the organization promote a healthy lifestyle and youth empowerment through its foundation, Sharaf Mahama Foundation.

The health walk which commenced and ended at the Jubilee Park went through some principal streets within Tamale. There was singing and dancing as participants dressed in NDC-branded shirts including those of the Sharaf Mahama Foundation joined in a massive jubilation.

It was a walk but also served as an even more significant convergence of members and friends of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including the party’s Parliamentary Candidates, Members Of Parliament, and Regional Delegates among others to drum their support for Sharaf Mahama and the NDC.

The foundation also helped with signing up or re-signing beneficiaries for health care 122 times and has around combined more than 300 still in the works. It underscores the need for regular health check-ups and preventive care, providing crucial healthcare facilities to people in their community.

The health initiatives extended beyond Tamale. On June 28, 2024, the Sharaf Mahama Foundation conducted similar health screenings in Damango as part of the ‘Savannah Soccer Tournament.’ Here, 1,356 individuals received health screenings, comprising 622 males and 734 females.
