Botswanan Pastor, Seraki Kemmonye with two wives proudly celebrates 3rd anniversary with 2nd wife
Botswanan pastor Seraki Kemmonye recently marked his third wedding anniversary with his second wife, Mpho, and he is proudly expressing his joy on social media.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, November 26, 2023, Seraki shared a photo from their wedding ceremony and disclosed that he and his first wife, Kagiso, “united Mpho” in matrimony.
“HAPPY 3RD ANNIVERSARY TO US! On this day three years ago, Kagiso and I married my second wife Mpho. Time flies, it feels like it’s been three months. It’s been a journey and a half! I just want to thank our support structures; family and friends who have been with us from day one, we are here because of you. Through tough times, you were always there for us! To Basadi baka: same time, same place! I love you guys from here to the moon and back,” he wrote.

According to 1 Corinthians 7, polygamy is deemed unlawful. It emphasizes that both men and women should have only one spouse and remain faithful to them.
The passage also highlights that within the marriage, the wife has authority over her husband’s body and vice versa. This authority does not extend to allowing either spouse to engage in sexual relations with someone else, even with mutual consent.
While the New Testament does not extensively discuss polygamy, some argue that Jesus’ reference to the union of a man and a wife becoming one flesh in Genesis 2:24 and Matthew 19:3–6 supports the idea of monogamy. On the other hand, proponents of polygamy point to 1 Corinthians 6:16, which mentions becoming one body with a prostitute, suggesting a physical rather than solely spiritual union.
