Mark M. Dicara mistakenly shoots himself after dreaming he was being robbed
According to a New York Post report, a guy apparently shot himself after having a dream that he was being robbed.
Mark M. Dicara, 62, was discovered by police in April at his Illinois home with a gunshot wound to the leg.
He informed police that he had a nightmare about being robbed, which is why he got up in the middle of the night to get his.357 Magnum Revolver.
He explained to the cops that he went to get his.357 Magnum handgun handgun while he was still asleep because he was having a nightmare about being robbed.
‘When he fired, he shot himself and apparently woke up from the dream,’ Lake County Sheriff’s Office said.
He accidently shot himself after he fired, and he “apparently woke up from the dream,” according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

They confirmed there had not actually been a break-in. The bullet went through his leg and fell on the bed. Dicara was charged with carrying a firearm while ineligible for an Illinois handgun owners identification card. Why this was revoked is unknown.
He was also charged with reckless gunfire. He was granted bail after posting a $150,000 bond. He is due in court on June 29.
