14 years no child: Church elders welcome first child
Church elders, Deaconess Christiana Baidoo-Gorman Armah and Elder Frank Armah, a devoted couple from the Downtown District of The Church of Pentecost in Kasoa, celebrated their long-awaited miracle after 14 years of longing for a child.
They felt hopeless after their arduous journey through numerous medical procedures, drugs, and even herbal cures. Despite the urgent prayers of Christian leaders, they seemed unable to conceive a child.
However, when Pastor Andrews Owusu of the Downtown District took over as the district minister in 2021, their lives took a joyful turn.
In an amazing interview with Pentecost News, Christiana, District Leader of the Children’s Ministry, recalled the turning point that changed their course:
“A few months after Pastor Andrews Owusu joined our district, he invited my husband and me to the mission house. There, he assured us that God had answered our prayers and urged us to offer daily thanks in our prayers. Although skeptical, as we had encountered similar proclamations before, we remained faithful. And true to his word, God blessed us just weeks later, even when we had lost all hope.”
Even when her doctor verified Christiana’s pregnancy at a normal checkup, Christiana continued to remain in disbelief. She insisted on a second diagnosis since she was certain the first one was incorrect given her prior difficulties.
She didn’t realize how magnificent the reality was until her tummy grew large from the miracle of life.
Exactly 14 years after their wedding anniversary, on January 25th, 2023, Christiana gave birth to a healthy child at Ridge Hospital in Accra.
The couple’s happiness increased when their son was solemnly dedicated on April 22, 2023, in a ceremony presided over by Pastor Bernard Kwarteng of the New Amanfrom District, speaking on behalf of the Apostle Dr. Benjamin Ali, Head of the Downtown-Ofaakor Area.
“I empathize with the pain of infertility and sincerely hope no woman has to endure it. Today, I am filled with joy, and my husband shares in this happiness. We are eternally grateful to God for finally answering our prayers. All glory belongs to Him,” she stated.
