The business is set up over the aforementioned 4 states in 39 Area Offices and 9 Regions.

The corporation is divided into 2 undertakings and 26 geographical business units. AEDC is aware of the need to uphold electricity quality in accordance with current Nigerian rules as set forth by NERC in their Customer Service Standards of Performance, as well as with generally recognized international standards (IEC 60050: Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity).
Due to this, the Business has made improving power supply and technical efficiency through network investment to lower electrical losses a top goal.
Investors make offers for AEDC as UBA eyes N13.3bn from sales
According to the United Bank for Africa (UBA) PLC, investors have made offers to purchase the bank’s shares in the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company for roughly N13.38 billion (AEDC).
The bank’s 2022 annual report and accounts, which Daily Trust was able to get on Sunday, contained this information.
Analysis of the audit report’s schedule of “Non-Current Assets Held for Sale” by the bank reveals that AEDC was worth N13.69 billion in 2021 when UBA assumed control as a result of a loan failure by the original investors, KANN Consortium.
But, after seizing the collateralized properties, UBA stated that the fair market value of these properties, less the cost of sale, was N13.38 billion.
Almost a million customers in the KANN states of Kogi, Abuja, Nasarawa, and Niger are served by AEDC, a distribution firm (DisCo).
“The Group’s policy is to pursue the timely and orderly realization of the collaterals,” it read.
The board of directors of UBA Plc approved the sale of its interest in the assets and liabilities of AEDC as soon as feasible after the foreclosure.
“After lengthy negotiations over the sale of its investment in the company, the bank is currently evaluating the offers from potential investors. After receiving the required regulatory permissions, this would be made public, UBA stated in the audited year report.
In other news, after a windstorm destroyed parts of its equipment and systems, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company says it is now working to restore power service to Minna and the surrounding area.
