Attention Swifties: Taylor Swift Eras Tour at MetLife Stadium

For it, are you prepared? Fans of Taylor Swift are well aware that the highly anticipated Eras Tour began on Friday with the first of three performances in the Tri-State Area.

There will also be performances at MetLife Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, but the venue has a warning for spectators to prevent any unpleasant feelings: parking lot entry requires a ticket.

The announcement comes two weeks after 20,000 unticketed admirers sang along to her songs in the parking lot of Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Stadium.

According to a statement, “We strongly encourage those without tickets not to come to MetLife Stadium on show days. This is for the safety and enjoyment of all those who have tickets for these shows.”

Officials issued a warning that concert tickets are necessary in order to enter parking lots, which would be filled to capacity on show evenings.

And New Jersey State Police also advised against no “Taylor-gating” for those who don’t have tickets.

StubHub reports that the least expensive ticket for Friday’s Taylor Swift performance costs $1,454 and the most expensive one costs $9,084. However, if you want to go with a friend and sit next to them, remember to breathe since tickets in section 6, row 11, are going for $143,753 each.

Those who are unable to attend any of the performances can still take part in the fun by eating the new state sandwich, a Taylor Swift Ham, Egg, and Cheese. In honor of the tour, Governor Phil Murphy proclaimed the breakfast sandwich to be the state sandwich.

Swift’s imposing catalog of pop, folk, and country classics, which includes both deep-cut fan favorites and huge hits on the Billboard Hot 100, is played nonstop for three hours during the tour, which began in March in Glendale, Arizona, and concludes in August in California.

With a running time of three and a half hours, the show is too long for everyone except the true Swifties and a challenge for nearly everyone. But that only serves to highlight how many devoted admirers Swift has.

Swift released a new song earlier this week called “You’re Losing Me,” which is only accessible to fans on a “Midnights (Til Dawn Edition)” CD that is only sold at merchandising stalls at the venue in East Rutherford, New Jersey. As if Swifties needed another cause to get their (bad) blood pumping for the event.
