Christopher Atkins, 12, and Robert Robinson, 17 accused of three murders in Florida is led handcuffed to jail

After being accused of three murders on Thursday night, a shirtless, babyfaced 12-year-old was escorted cuffed from a Florida police station to be taken to jail.

The Marion County Sheriff arrested and accused Christopher Atkins, 12, and Robert Robinson, 17, in connection with the deaths of three additional youngsters whose remains were discovered earlier this week.

Police are still looking for a third suspect, 16-year-old Tahj Brewton, and have offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information that results in his capture.

Atkins, who was detained at his residence, is shown in the video with a stony expression as two deputies flank him and lead him to a waiting police cruiser.

Robinson is shown wearing a gray shirt and has his hands tied in front of him. He was pulled up after fighting at school.

He mutters to the officer taking him out of the station, but it is clear that he is purposefully avoiding looking at the camera.

Fears of a serial killer on the loose were sparked when Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods claimed the three alleged killers were members of the same burglary group as the three murdered adolescents discovered last week.

There is no honor among thieves, Woods declared during a press conference on Friday.

Layla Silvernail, a 16-year-old softball star and the first victim, was discovered dead after being left on the side of the road on March 30.

The following morning, a 17-year-old male was found in a ditch on a road about half a mile away, according to Woods. According to police reports, he was sporting a ski mask and some black gloves.

Police said the third victim, 16-year-old Camille Quarles, was discovered in the trunk of Silvernail’s vehicle nine miles from the scene of her initial abandonment at a pond near Ocklawaha.

Woods referred to the attackers as “They fled the scenes but left a lot of evidence in their wake,” According to police records, one of the victims had plans to purchase a gun from the suspects before to the murders.

Authorities would not provide a comprehensive timeline of what happened, but they did say that at one point, all six young people were in Silvernail’s automobile with him.

According to Woods, a witness heard the fatal gunshots, and it is likely that both individuals died at the same moment.

Given the seriousness of the crime, police said that prosecutors are considering trying the young people as adults.

Quarles has two siblings and was being raised by her aunt, according to a GoFundMe page for her.

The post states, “She liked basketball and volleyball and was really good at softball.”

“She liked puzzles. She was really good at braiding my hair. She might’ve had ups and downs in life but she was still a good person.”

Woods said the gun used in the slayings was taken during a car burglary.

Sheriff Woods added: “This investigation has been a success because of several factors. Our law enforcement partners with the FBI, the U.S. Marshal’s Service, State Attorney Bill Gladson’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Ocala Police Department, my deputies, detectives, and forensics professionals, and finally, our citizens who provided numerous tips all along the way.”
