Creatives for NDC Express Strong Endorsement for Minority’s Call for Bank of Ghana Governor’s Resignation
In a resounding show of support, Creatives for NDC has thrown its weight behind the parliamentary minority’s demand for the immediate resignation of Dr. Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison, the current Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
The group emphasizes that the primary responsibility of public officials is to act in the best interest of the nation, a principle that they believe Dr. Addison and his board members have not upheld.
The actions of the current leadership of the Bank of Ghana, according to Creatives for NDC, have not only led to financial losses for the nation but have also violated the country’s laws.
Despite these concerns, the appointing authority has refrained from removing them from their posts, prompting the endorsement of the minority’s call for resignation.
In a statement released today, Creatives for NDC stated, “The obligation of public officers is to execute their duties in the interest of the state, this is unfortunately not the case of the current governor of the Bank of Ghana and his board members. Their actions are causing financial loss to the state and are also in clear contravention to the laws of the country, but their appointer insists on keeping them at post.”
The group not only reiterates the demand for Dr. Addison’s resignation but also announces their intention to participate in the demonstration organized by the parliamentary minority, demonstrating their commitment to the cause for the betterment of Ghana.
The group has issued a passionate call to action, urging citizens of Ghana who believe in accountability, good governance, and responsible stewardship of state resources to join hands with their parliamentarians to put an end to what they describe as “lawlessness, misappropriation, and mismanagement of state funds.” The endorsement comes as a strong testament to the concern shared by many over the direction of the country’s financial institutions.
Haruna Seidu Soale (Zoree), the National Chairman of Creatives for NDC, emphasized the organization’s commitment to the cause, stating, “Creatives for NDC reiterates the call for the resignation of Dr. Ernest Kwamina Yedu Addison and shall join the demonstration of the minority group in parliament for God and the country.”
With this endorsement, Creatives for NDC adds its voice to the growing chorus of individuals and groups who are advocating for transparent and accountable leadership within Ghana’s financial institutions. As the nation watches closely, the parliamentary minority’s demonstration gains momentum, fueled by the collective desire for a responsible and effective banking sector that contributes positively to the growth and development of the nation.
