Nana Oye Bampoe Addo: Mahama’s Fight Against Corruption Is Bold and Unwavering
It is barely 4 months since the good people of Ghana entrusted leadership into the hands of H.E John Dramani Mahama and the NDC. It is encouraging to observe that the President’s fight against corruption has been nothing but head-on.
Four months into President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, the government’s fight against corruption is gaining momentum, with several bold initiatives already underway.
According to Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff (Administration), the President has shown clear commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
In a statement shared after the launch of the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan II (NACAP II), Nana Oye described the President’s efforts as a “head-on” approach to fighting corruption. She cited initiatives like Operation Recover All Loot, which has entered its retrieval phase, the President’s personal declaration of assets, and the anti-corruption pledges made by government appointees.
“These actions are part of steady efforts towards a transparent, just and accountable government,” she noted.
Nana Oye also reminded Ghanaians that the roots of this commitment go back to 2015 when the first NACAP was launched under the leadership of then Vice President Mahama. The new NACAP II, she said, marks a continuation of that vision.
Speaking at the launch event, she highlighted the President’s dedication to the cause, stating: “I re-emphasized the President’s unwavering commitment towards reducing corruption in Ghana.” She added that the support shown by anti-corruption agencies, stakeholders, and development partners was encouraging and a sign that the country is on the right path.

While acknowledging progress, she admitted that the battle is far from over. However, the administration remains focused on delivering a governance system rooted in integrity and public trust.
