The Memphis Commercial Appeal was informed of Stutts’ passing by Bobby Alston, a coach and athletics director at Memphis University School.

At MSU, he was a two-sport star who earned three stars for football and four stars for wrestling. In a tweet sent three months ago, the defensive lineman declared his commitment to the Hogs. The 250-pound, 6-foot-3 defensive lineman was ranked 82nd in his position for the 2024 class.
Stutts had offers from Texas A&M, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Louisville and Tulane, among others. The sportsman was also a wrestler.
On March 11, Stutts posted a collage of images showing himself decked out in University football gear. Stutts uploaded a ton of photos from the wrestling mat and football field to his Instagram account.
Before deciding to enroll at Arkansas, the football star received offers from schools like Texas A&M, South Carolina, and Louisville.
If Stutts hadn’t chosen to pursue a career in football, he claimed to Arkansas Online that he would have been a wrestler.
He said: “I started it to get better at football, but I’m really good at the sport, so I could also proceed in it if I had to.”
Stutts revealed that his wrestling coach told him to “live with the beast mentality.”
Dion Stutts, 18, dies in apparent ATV crash
According to sources, Dion Stutts, a rising senior on the football team at Memphis University School (MUS) and a committed player for the Arkansas Razorbacks, passed away in an apparent ATV accident on Tuesday. He was 18.

MUS Athletics confirmed Stutts’ passing on social media on Tuesday with a simple statement.
The Panola County Sheriff’s Office reportedly told ESPN that Stutts crashed while operating a four-wheeler on his family’s land in Batesville, Mississippi.
Bobby Alston, the athletic director and coach of the MUS football team, gave the Commercial Appeal newspaper a confirmation of the circumstances of his death.
“For the family, our hearts are devastated. Dion was a fantastic young man. When you got the chance to be with him, he had a smile that melted your heart, Alston told the publication.
On May 11, defensive lineman Stutts, a three-star prospect and the No. 27-ranked athlete out of Tennessee, declared his commitment to Arkansas.
He posted on Twitter, “After an amazing two days at the Hill I’m happy to announce, I’ll be joining the family!”
Tuesday, the institution issued a statement in response to the news of his passing.
“We are heartbroken over the passing of Dion Stutts. He was a tremendous young man with a bright future ahead of him.”
It continued, “We were as excited to add him to our program as he was to be a Razorback. Our thoughts and prayers are with his mother Shante and father Dino along with his entire family as they deal with this loss.”
